Position: GEOMEMBRANE APPRENTICE TECHNICIANS

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT LAYFIELD
Successful Geomembrane Apprentice Technicians at Layfield are self-motivated, highly disciplined, enthusiastic team players that have at least one year of previous construction experience.
In addition, the Geomembrane Apprentice Technician is a safety-focused individual who is adaptable to changing schedules, enjoys working outdoors year-round and is available to travel extensively throughout Canada for up to 24 days at a time.
Language of work: English. Spoken and written.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
* Proper deployment of geosynthetic materials.
* All aspects of the the installation, including: the welding and seaming of geomembrane liners and environmental containment systems.
* You will operate plastic fusion welding equipment used in the installation process, such as wedge welders, leisters, tensiometers, etc. and other basic hand tools.
* You’ll help identify and process/equipment improvements.
* You’ll ensure all projects are completed at our industry-leading safety standards and above customer expectations.WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
* Minimum 1 year of construction laborer experience.
* Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
* Availability to travel to different job sites Canada-wide for extended periods of time (up to 24 days).
* Successfully pass pre-employment or pre-access (drug & alcohol) site testing.
* Safety-focused individuals who enjoy working within a team.
* Good analytical skills and sound judgment to resolve issues.
